Graduated from HEC Paris, Sofiane is a born entrepreneur. He has founded two businesses in the field of consulting and strategy. He started his career in finance and corporate banking, he then managed sales and marketing divisions within High Tech groups, and was an executive director of three fintechs. He also led the operations of a credit insurance company, before accompanying as a partner of a merchant bank different clients in their fundraising operations and strategies of growth.
Milena was the Executive Director of the Strategic Leadership Forum from 2013 until February 2018, when she was offered a position on the Board. Milena has also worked for The Accountability Group, a boutique strategy and governance consulting firm, since 2015. She is a professional IT Project Manager with 9 years in the Insurance industry, where she advanced strategic goals by delivering impactful projects. She managed global enterprise projects up to $5.5M with global virtual teams and multiple vendors, from concept to post-implementation. She is skilled at stakeholder analysis and engagement, building strong working relationships with clients, members, and stakeholders. She holds a PMP (Professional Project Manager) designation, an MA in History, and an MBA from McMaster’s DeGroote School, where she earned the Gold Medal (first of over 300 graduates).
Étienne Polle is a young professional with experience in the field of economics and finance. A Research Assistant at S&P Global Ratings in Toronto, he contributes to the credit ratings of various Canadian and international public sector entities. Étienne moved last year to Toronto from Dublin, Ireland, where he worked as a country economist for the French Treasury. He has also held a financial consultant position in his native France. Étienne graduated in Economics from the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK, and earned a Master’s degree in Managerial and Financial Economics from HEC Paris.

Anil is a patent agent, trade-mark agent and lawyer at Bhole IP Law. He assists start-ups and established companies to formulate best practices to optimize their returns, and to pursue IP protection on key technologies while meeting their constraints. Prior to establishing Bhole IP Law, Anil was a lawyer and patent agent at Blake, Cassels & Graydon and at Miller Thomson, both Toronto-based national law firms. He conducts guest lectures at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto and meet with entrepreneurial students to assist them in commercializing their technologies. Anil holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School (York University).
Thom Zaugg’s passion is helping companies grow their business from the inside out. He works as a consultant helping companies grow their core business. Thom was Managing Director of Diebold Canada for 8 years. Under his leadership the Canadian operations grew more than three fold by winning long-term contracts with a value of a half billion dollars. Prior to Diebold, Thom was Senior Director at Petro-Canada responsible for Marketing, Development and R&D. He was a guest lecturer at the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, in Oxford England for several years. Thom also served as a Board Member for the Strategic Leadership Forum, the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering and political associations at the National and Provincial level in Alberta and Ontario. Thom is a Professional Engineer with a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta. He has a certificate of Executive Leadership from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
Katherine is an innovative and analytical marketing executive experienced in developing and implementing insights-driven, strategic and integrated brand marketing initiatives that include digital marketing and social media targeted at B2B and consumer markets, and a proven track record of building brands in consumer packaged goods, retail, foodservice, and media publishing verticals for some of North America’s leading organizations. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Marketing from Ryerson University, and an executive MBA from Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto).

Jerry has been operating his own management consulting practice since 1982 leading business transformations for a wide range of clients in diversified industries. He has worked on event-organizing committees, is currently Chair of their Editorial Committee, co-hosts the Book Group, and has written a wine column for their newsletter. He currently distributes a bi-monthly wine newsletter, “Win Pix best wines under $30.00”. He has chaired his own CEO peer-to-peer networking group (The Executive Network), and is a past member of Independent Advisory Boards for an electrical products manufacturer and an applications software provider. He is a member of the faculty of the Canadian Management Centre (CMC) and is on the Board of Free for All Foundation and co-chairs their planning committee. He is a member of TechConnex, formerly York Technology Alliance (YTA), and is the sergeant-at-arms at the NRG group. He is President and Chair of the Board of Directors of Bayview Community Services, an organization concerned with helping people who are recovering from severe mental health issues to live their best life in their community. Jerry has served as a consultant to the Industrial Adjustment Service (IAS), Human Resources Development Canada, and the Ontario Innovation and Productivity Service (OIPS), Ministry of Economic Development, Trade & Tourism, and on projects through the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP), a program of the National Research Council (NRC).
Enrico is a business graduate who received top-notch education from renown universities in Europe and in Asia. He holds a dual MSc degree in management from HEC Paris and NUS, and a BSc in management from Bocconi. As a hobby, Enrico is learning to code for web development. Whenever he is not glued to a computer’s screen, he loves spending time reading books and exercising at the gym. Enrico is passionate about fintech, decentralization technologies, and social impact.
Connor is a Honours Commerce student at McMaster University in Hamilton. Recently, Connor is completing a summer internship with CIBC in Toronto. Connor holds various positions with many student-run clubs on the McMaster University campus to help develop the knowledge and skills of his peers. Connor is a born athlete, you can often catch him on the ski slopes at Craigleith Ski Club in Collingwood or hanging out with his friends.
