This spring the SLF launched a series of innovative new programs focusing on the current economic downturn. These events were entitled My New Me, My New World, and My New Organization. Over 100 Toronto-area executives participated in these lively panel discussions.

The COLISEUM was an exciting competition in which Tom Schopf, inventor of The Wedgie, an innovative new tri-athlete cycling accessory, was awarded first prize for “best business pitch.” This unique event offered five entrepreneurs the chance to present new business concepts to a panel of leading Canadian executives.
Dianne Buckner, host of CBC’s Dragons’ Den and the new Fortune Hunters series chaired the event and was the keynote speaker. Our three judges were: Cora Tsouflidou, founder of Chez Cora, Ajay Virmani, President & CEO of Cargojet, and Michael Medline, Chief Corporate Officer & President, Diversified Businesses, Canadian Tire Corporation.
